"For by the Sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence, they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” |
Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation which strengthens the grace of Baptism and seals us with the Holy Spirit. Confirmation strengthens us to live our life of faith. Through this sacrament, the Holy Spirit and the Spirit’s gifts help us to live our baptismal promises, to grow into the likeness of Christ, and to share his mission.
